We rented a car and Per drove us to Karlstad. Normally we would split a three hour drive, but I was in no shape to help out. Packing up was an intense hassle. I couldn't put weight on my foot so I was hopping everywhere with a sack to gather things as I went. All the rooms in Swedish homes have little wooden thresholds between them, and my hopping leg got so incredibly tired jumping over them. But we got everything together finally. And a friend loaned me some forearm crutches which were really really helpful.
It was lovely to finally make it to Karlstad. We had a warm and cozy dinner with Mats and Viveca. Lars had left his cat there while his family traveled north, so we got some cat time in as well.
